The latest works of the Contemporary Jurisprudence Library

In its latest update, the Contemporary Jurisprudence Library added the book “Multicultural Citizenship: A Liberal Theory of Minority Rights” to its collection of resources. This work, written by Will Kymlicka and translated by Ebrahim Skafi, was published by Shirazeh Ketab Publishing in 2016 and is now available to researchers in the field of contemporary jurisprudence and social studies.

Book Introduction:

This book examines the challenges facing multicultural societies and how liberal democracies interact with minority rights. Referring to linguistic and ethnic diversity in different countries, the author analyzes complex issues such as regional autonomy, immigration policies, citizenship, education, and political representation and attempts to provide a framework for resolving these issues.

In this work, Kymlicka, while criticizing the Western political tradition and its neglect of the issue of multiculturalism in societies, examines various historical policies in dealing with minorities and shows how different societies, from forced assimilation to genocide, have attempted to achieve cultural uniformity. Finally, this book attempts to explain the foundations of a liberal theory of minority rights.

Researchers and interested parties can read this book in the specialized library of contemporary jurisprudence.
