A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for scientific, research, and jurisprudential cooperation was signed between the Representation Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy and the Research Institute of Contemporary Jurisprudence Studies. This MoU has been concluded with the objective of strengthening the current of ijtihad and contemporary jurisprudence, developing jurisprudential research in the realm of newly emerging issues, deepening contemporary jurisprudence studies, and expanding scientific interactions in the domain of system jurisprudence (fiqh al-nizam) between these two prominent jurisprudential institutions.

This agreement took shape with the signatures of Ayatollah Ahmad Moballeghi, Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, and Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Noorhofeidi, Director of the Research Institute of Contemporary Jurisprudence Studies, emphasizing the synergy of scientific and research capacities of both institutions.

Pursuant to this MoU, cooperation will be pursued across three main axes: holding joint scientific sessions and chairs, executing research plans and projects in fields such as comparative jurisprudence and the jurisprudence of social, economic, and legal systems, and mutual utilization of scientific, library, and research capacities of both complexes.

This MoU is evaluated as an effective step toward deepening contemporary jurisprudence studies and strengthening the production of jurisprudential knowledge proportionate to the needs of the Islamic world.
