Expansion of Scientific Interactions Between the Research Institute of Contemporary Jurisprudence and the Research, Document Preservation, and Publication Center of Najaf al-Ashraf

In line with expanding scientific interactions and developing research collaborations with seminary research centers, a delegation from the Research Institute of Contemporary Jurisprudence, attending the Research, Document Preservation, and Publication Center of Najaf al-Ashraf, visited various departments of this center and held talks with its officials regarding avenues for joint scientific and research cooperation.

In line with expanding scientific interactions and developing research collaborations with seminary research centers, a delegation from the Research Institute of Contemporary Jurisprudence, attending the Research, Document Preservation, and Publication Center of Najaf al-Ashraf, visited various departments of this center and held talks with its officials regarding avenues for joint scientific and research cooperation.

According to the news portal of the Research Institute of Contemporary Jurisprudence, this meeting was held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, and the dispatched delegation of the research institute comprised Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Mostafa Dorri, Vice President and Research Deputy of the Research Institute, Dr. Abdul-Majid Moballeghi, Director of the International Department of the Research Institute, and Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Mohammad Vahidi, professor of advanced levels in the Islamic Seminary of Najaf al-Ashraf.

The Research, Document Preservation, and Publication Center of Najaf al-Ashraf was established through the efforts of Professor Sheikh Mohammad al-Karbassi, operating with the objective of gathering, preserving, and documenting papers, works, and sources related to the city of Najaf al-Ashraf and its Islamic seminary.

Members of the research institute delegation during this visit, following talks with Professor Sheikh Mohammad al-Karbassi, President of the Center, visited various departments of the center, particularly the Unit for Specialized Research and Studies as well as the Documents and Archives Department, becoming closely informed about the scientific and research activities and capacities of this institution.

During this visit, center officials explained their scientific program in examining specialized jurisprudential issues, elaborating that this process occurs in four stages:

Identifying and posing research topics and issues, covering topics through holding scientific competitions, commissioning researchers to write works, and ultimately utilizing the capacity of expert professors of advanced jurisprudence (Bahth al-Kharij) to examine and complete discussions.

Likewise, the research institute delegation viewed a collection of valuable documents and works at this center, including historical photographs of great scholars of Najaf al-Ashraf, copies of manuscripts, scholarly permissions (ijazat), and other archival documents related to the history of the Islamic Seminary of Najaf.

At the conclusion of this meeting, both sides, emphasizing existing scientific capacities, engaged in dialogue and exchange of views regarding the development of joint cooperation, exchange of research experiences, utilization of scientific capacities of both institutions, and promotion of specialized jurisprudential studies.
